Patches of fur missing - exposing the skin

Possible Causes

Chinchillas fighting. Rough handling.  Grabbing at the chinchilla when picking it up.  Startling the chinchilla. 

Usually grows back quickly.

N.B.  Ensure it is not ringworm - skin should look healthy!
